A little about me

Hello and welcome to my small corner of the web! My name is Bryan Belanger, and I'm a full-stack web developer based in Nashville, TN. I specialize in building accessible and performant systems across a variety of platforms.

In a previous life, I started as a graphic designer, which is why I particularly enjoy creating delightful user interfaces and design systems as well.

I've had the pleasure of contributing to projects for companies such as Microsoft and Meta, as well as government entities like the California DMV.

Accessibility

Accessibility is a cornerstone of the evolving web and development community, and it is an area I particularly emphasize. I strive to advocate for accessibility, believing firmly that all digital properties should be accessible to everyone. The internet holds immense potential for all, from facilitating education to providing career opportunities and much more. As builders, it is crucial that we integrate accessibility into the very heart of our planning, design, development, and overall implementation processes.

Everyone deserves access.

WordPress

WordPress is the largest open-source project and commands the biggest footprint on the web. I've spent a significant portion of my career working on both small-scale and enterprise-level projects utilizing WordPress.

The community has significantly contributed to my growth in software engineering and has been an invaluable tool for numerous projects. WordPress is at an exciting juncture with developments like the Block Editor, new API's being created, and more! It's a great time for anyone interested in getting involved. This includes contributions to the core or leveraging the CMS for your latest project. I'm a big supporter and can't wait to see what the future of the project holds.
